And Just Like That Acquittal 2.0

The second sham, and this time unconstitutional impeachment, of President Trump is over. Trump was of course aquitted once again. The swamp got to have it’s little kabuki show for the masses. The media got to tell the serfs again how horrible Donald J Trump is.  McConnell got to tell us how he really feels about Trump, as if we didn’t already know. Mitt Romney got to reaffirm that he’s still the same scum bag he’s always been.

If all that wasn’t kabuki enough for you Richard Burr decided to challenge the likes of Alexander Cortez, Maxine Waters, and Sheila Jackson Lee for the coveted title of ‘sooper genius congress critter’ with the following statement regarding his vote to convict:

“When this process started, I believed that it was unconstitutional to impeach a president who was no longer in office. I still believe that to be the case. However, the Senate is an institution based on precedent, and given that the majority in the Senate voted to proceed with this trial, the question of constitutionality is now established precedent.”

What a shame it is that this ‘constitutional expert’ from North Carolina is retiring at the end of his term in 2022.  We will all miss his ‘expertise and wisdom’.

The senate voted that they wanted to call witnesses for their kabuki show hoping to have those witnesses show what a bad person Trump is and why he had to be impeached.  Meanwhile the house managers were doing their part by attempting to paint a picture of insurrection by President Trump.

Everything was going smoothly for the swamp until Trump’s attorneys played a video of scores of public officials actually encouraging insurrection during last year’s rioting.  If that wasn’t bad enough Team Trump also submitted their list of witnesses they wanted to call to testify.  Among that list was one Nancy Pelosi, Speaker of the House.

Now imagine you are the swamp attempting to repair your image and get hit with the video and the witness list at the same time.  If you deny the video shows officials encouraging insurrection you can’t then turn around and go after Trump for doing far less, especially when you are attempting to repair your image.

You also cannot have Team Trump cross examining the Speaker of the House and other witnesses that could expose the whole rigged election.  If you deny Team Trump certain witnesses but allow them others then you damage your image further rather than help it.   What do you do?

Well you probably do some private polling to see what the serfs are thinking about the whole thing.  One can only imagine what those private polls must have shown because all of a sudden there were gonna be no witnesses and a final yay or nay vote on conviction Saturday afternoon.

And just like that Aquittal 2.0.
