McCarthy Sets the Grounds for Impeachment of President Biden in Letter to Colleagues

Just hours after writing about House Speaker Kevin McCarthy greenlighting an impeachment inquiry, he has now laid out the grounds for that inquiry in a letter to colleagues. According to the letter McCarthy has come up with the following justifications.

  • President Biden lied to the American people about knowledge of his business dealings.
  • Eyewitness testimony revealed the President joined several phone calls and had various interactions with his son’s business partners.
  • Bank records indicate that nearty $20 million in payments were directed to Biden family members and associates through various shell corporations.
  • There is also evidence that Biden used his official office to coordinate with Hunter Biden’s business partner about Hunter’s role in Burisma, a Ukranian energy company.
  • Finally, despite these serious allegations, it appears the President’s family has been afforded special treatment by Biden’s own administration, treatment they would not otherwise have received if they were not related to the President.

A trusted FBI informant provided information about alleged bribes to the Biden family.

McCarthy continues to point out that this is not a full impeachment, but rather an inquiry only.

The letter also had praise for 3 House committee chairmen, Reps. James Comer of the Oversight Committee, Jim Jordan of the Judiciary Committee, and Jason Smith of the Ways and Means Committee for their role in helping to uncover the evidence.

McCarthy has scheduled a meeting of the House GOP caucus for Thursday to lay all of this out.
