A new poll from ABC News and the Washington Post shows Former President Donald Trump leading President Joe Biden by 10% nationally. The poll was conducted between September 15 and September 20, 2023. It has a margin of error of plus or minus 3.5%. Full results can be found here.
The poll shows that among men Trump has a commanding 62% to 32% lead. He also leads by 20 points among those under 35 years of age. Other recent polls have shown Biden winning that age group anywhere between 6 and 18 points. In 2020 Biden won the under 35 age group by double digits.
Now this poll needless to say is unusual considering recent results from other polls. The Real Clear Politics (RCP) average currently stands at Trump +1.1% including this new poll. To say it is an outlier is an understatement.
The poll also shows that Biden’s approval rating now stands at 37%. That result appears to be a little more in line with other current polling. However it is still the lowest number for Biden in the RCP Average.
